Our home-like facilities with easy to find common areas provides a sense of security and warmth for people who are often anxious and may feel alone. Our caregivers take the time to know each of the residents and that connection is comforting and calming. Each resident room has a "Shadow Box" outside where residents are encouraged to place pictures and mementos of their life and that helps them recognize their personal space. Residents sometimes do not recognize the person in the mirror but almost always know pictures of themselves from many years past.
Just as in your home, our home-style kitchen and dining areas are the center of participation and connection. These areas are both a gathering place and a location for activity.
Friends and relatives are always welcome at all times and especially at mealtime.

Careful attention to resident safety and security underscores our every action. Doors are secured against resident elopement, but operable by keypad for staff and visitors. Security cameras monitor common areas and nurse call stations. These supplement staff who are constantly present, watchful and caring for resident safety.
At Heirloom Living Centers, cheerfully decorated rooms are all designed to reduce a resident's stress level and to promote calm and serenity. We provide comprehensive care to residents who require prescription medications. On the program, residents benefit from the latest treatment including individualized care plans, scheduled communal activities, dietary and nutritional plans, physical therapy and coordination with the resident's physician and pharmacist.

Heirloom Living Centers, LLC offers personal assistance services 24/7 to our residents. Doctor orders and prescribed pharmaceuticals are reviewed and incorporated into a personalized care plan for each resident.
Caregivers provide assistance with bathing, bathroom needs, dressing and laundry. The kitchen and dining room are focal points of everyday life, and we work especially hard to keep residents well fed and healthy. This is important to enhance health and prevent progressive weight loss and loss of vigor. Med-Aids dispense daily prescription medications under the delegation of nursing staff. Daily recreational activities are mixed with mealtime and resting periods. Snacks are served throughout the day. All services are individualized to maximize resident comfort and dignity.

Caregiver Respite Service
It is often exhausting for a home-caregiver experiencing the challenges of a loved one in memory decline. Time off is critical for the caregiver's health. We provide short-term care for just a few hours or an extended period to give respite to the caregiver while the one in need of care receives attention in safe surroundings. Everyone needs a break now and then and using respite services can support and strengthen your ability to be a caregiver. As stated about "Using respite care" on the Alzheimer's Association website, "Caregiving is demanding — and it's normal to need a break. Seeking help does not make you a failure. Remember that respite services benefit the person with dementia as well as the caregiver. Respite care can help you as a caregiver by providing a new environment or time to relax. It's a good way for you to take time for yourself.
Respite care can provide:
- A chance to spend time with other friends and family or to just relax
- Time to take care of errands such as shopping, exercising, getting a haircut or going to the doctor
- Comfort and peace of mind knowing that the person with dementia is spending time with another caring individual

Registered Nurse
Our Director of Nursing, oversees the clinical staff for all Heirloom Living Centers' communities with excellent communications skills, positive work ethic, and has experience in many facets of nursing including geriatric clinic and community health agencies. Our RN's guidance significantly enhances the very important health services provided for our Residents.
Transportation Assistance
Each facility provides assistance to Family Members needing to transport residents to various outside activities such as doctor appointments. We can schedule transportation if needed and ask that a family member accompany their resident on these journeys outside the facility.
If the family member is unable to use their vehicle, we will assist coordinating transportation from a variety of commercial sources.
A state program can help with funding transportation if that is necessary.
We provide assistance with loading and unloading of the resident and any items they need to take with them.
Arrangements are coordinated by our staff for transportation through Jackson County Dial-a-ride, Care Trans, and Ready Ride.
